PUBLIC INFORMATION*

Our primary purpose as a fellowship is to carry the message to the addict who still suffers. Public Information is a vital part of “carrying the message.” This type of service calls upon us to communicate and participate in areas of the community in which, as using addicts, we were once unwelcome.

PI is the fellowships link to the general public. Our goal is to inform the general public and/or professionals to what Narcotics Anonymous is and is not.

Who Are Professionals?

Who are the professionals that we cooperate with? Essentially they are people who may be in a position to help addicts under their care get introduced to the 12 step based program known as Narcotics Anonymous. They may include but are not limited to the following:

· Councilors or Administrators at a drug treatment facility

· Parole and Probation officers

· Halfway or 3/4 house councilors

· Mental health professionals

· Social workers

· Clergy

· Doctors

· School teachers / educators

· Government officials
